Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2020 | 3.5 Gb
Autodesk Inc., is pleased to announce the availability of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2020. This release includes new and updated features, performance enhancements, and fixes.

What's new in Civil 3D 2020:

This release of Civil 3D delivers further improvements to performance and scalability, enhancing BIM design and production efficiencies for larger, more complex projects. The latest release is packed with new features and we're particularly excited to introduce Dynamo for Civil 3D, which will streamline repetitive tasks and help you get more out of your model.

With Dynamo for Civil 3D we enter the next era of design automation and computational BIM. Customers will be able to iterate, automate and solve complex design challenges, significantly reducing time and improving quality. You can get started with the included sample scripts or use the visual programming environment to develop custom scripts to tackle your specific tasks. Accelerate design efficiencies with Dynamo for Civil 3D and the new features in Civil 3D 2020. Watch Dynamo in action below:

New look and new capabilities

In addition to the introduction of Dynamo for Civil 3D, the 2020 version of Civil 3D also comes with notable enhancements to storm and sanitary analysis, gravity network analysis, and an upgraded user interface.

Updated User Interface

The first thing you may notice when launching Civil 3D 2020 is the look and feel - a dark blue theme running across the ribbon background, and easier navigation; these cosmetic updates were designed to create a uniform experience across the entire AEC Collection. The kicker - upgrades to the ribbon icons in order to scale with high-resolution monitors such as a 4K display, helping to make the purpose of each command clear and intuitive.

Storm and Sanitary Analysis

There are several updated features in Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis, which accompanies Civil 3D 2020. When analyzing multiple storm events, you can now add separate tailwater conditions for each event and edit the outfall conditions for each storm event.

When using dimensionless hydrographs, you can now adjust the peak rate factor for the hydrograph on a per sub-basin basis. For example, if you're running an SCS hydrology model, TR20 or TR55, the sub-basin dialog box enables a new peak rate factor field at the top of the dialogue box and for each sub-basin in the table at the bottom of the dialogue box. The factor can be entered on either location and copied from one sub-basin to another. New storage chamber systems from ADS or Cultec are available for underground attention.

Gravity Network Analysis

The updated analyze gravity network command helps users to analyze a gravity pipe network and then apply the results while in the model. This feature uses the hydraulic properties and gutter details for each structure being analyzed in this network. The wizard for the analyze gravity network command has been replaced with a mode-less dialogue box, which enables you to directly interact inside the drawing. There are three different types of analysis to choose from: pipe sizing, computing energy in hydraulic grade lines, and inlet analysis.

By selecting the network details button before you run the analysis, you can review and resolve issues before performing the final analysis. Additional outfall options have been added to give you more design options. You can look at the final results of your analysis in an Excel spreadsheet for reporting.

Autodesk Batch Save Utility
- Fixed a display issue in localized versions of the Autodesk Batch Save Utility dialog box.
- The log files for the Autodesk Batch Save Utility are now saved to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\BatchSaveLog.
Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis
- Fixed an issue that caused the analysis to fail for a model that contains more than 1000 subbasins.
- Fixed an issue where performing an analysis for a second time in an older version file would return the following error: 'INF' is not a valid floating point value.
- Fixed an issue where performing an analysis would return the following error: Error 211: Invalid number NAN at line of [CURVE] section.
- Fixed an issue where using the Edit in Storm and Sanitary Analysis command in Civil 3D would return the following error: AWA.SSA.DWGTranslator has stopped working.
- Fixed an issue that prevented editing IDF curve tables.
- Fixed an issue in which coordinates could shift by a factor of 100 when imported from a Hydraflow Storm Sewers (STM) file on a computer with a German operating system.
- Fixed an issue that prevented STM files that were exported from Storm and Sanitary Analysis from being opened in Hydraflow Storm Sewers.
- Fixed an issue that prevented generating custom reports.
- Fixed an issue that prevented saving an AVI file when using the Output Animation command.
- Fixed an issue where the About box for Storm and Sanitary Analysis was empty.
Autodesk Subassembly Composer
- Fixed an issue in which a link created from the end of a loop to a new point fails to draw.
Corridors
- Fixed an issue that could occur when building corridors using PKT file subassemblies that have links without defined cant parameters, and when ApplyAOR was applied.
- Fixed an issue in which the top link of a subassembly was lost when the corridor was built.
- Fixed an issue that caused the outer corners of corridors to not clean up correctly where there were tangent-tangent intersections in the baseline.
Data Shortcuts
- Improved performance when synchronizing data shortcut references.
- Fixed an issue that caused corridor sections and labels to disappear in a section view after synchronizing data shortcut references.
- Fixed an issue that prevented creating corridor data shortcut references.
- Fixed an issue in which nested data referenced alignments and corridors reported being out of date.
- Fixed an issue in which data referenced alignments are created as the wrong alignment type when creating data referenced corridors that have dependent non-centerline alignments.
- Fixed an issue in which corridor data shortcut references appear to be broken when adding a baseline to a corridor.
- Fixed an issue in which nested alignment data shortcut references appear to be broken after data shortcuts are deleted.
- Fixed an issue in which the Set Working Folder dialog box would block access to the user interface.
- Improved stability when saving a source drawing that contains pipe network data while a drawing that contains a data shortcut reference to the pipe network is open on another computer.
- Added a message for instances in which the source of a corridor data shortcut reference needs to be rebuilt.
- Fixed an issue in which a data referenced corridor was not reported as being out of date after the associated data referenced alignment was deleted.
- Improved performance when specifying the active data shortcuts folder in situations where the working folder contains many projects.
Grading
- Fixed an issue in which elevation was reported improperly when a higher priority feature line intersects another.
Interoperability with Autodesk Infraworks
- Fixed an issue in which invalid curves could be created in Autodesk InfraWorks when importing an IMX file exported from Civil 3D.
- Fixed an issue in which profile data was not included in an exported IMX file when the Civil 3D drawing contained an empty layout profile.
- Fixed an issue in which the curve and spiral of an alignment were lost after importing an IMX file into a drawing with different units of measure.
- Fixed an issue importing rectangular pipes from an IMX file so that both the height and width are matched to the closest size instead of just using the first size that matches the height.
Labels
- Corrected the annotation along parcel segments created from alignments.
- Fixed an issue in which corridor point label styles were not included in section label sets.
Object Enabler
- Fixed an issue in which creating a new drawing in an object-enabled AutoCAD created proxy objects.
Pipe Networks
- Fixed an issue in the Analyze Gravity Network command where the benching coefficient (CB) was reported as a non-zero value for the furthest most upstream structure without an inlet pipe.
- Fixed an issue in which structure sump depth values were set to 2 when importing a pipe network from a Hydraflow Storm Sewers (STM) file.
- Fixed an issue in which each time the Apply Rules command was run on a pipe with an end-to-start flow direction, elevations would be lowered.
- Updated the Concrete Pipe SI family in the metric drawing template with the correct Manning's n coefficient parameters.
- Fixed an issue in which the structure orientation was displayed incorrectly in a profile view.
- Changed the default sump depth to zero instead of 2.0 so when a sump depth rule does not exist and a pipe network is created from objects the sump depths will no longer default to 2.0.
