Altair has launched SimSolid 2019.0.1, is structural analysis software developed specifically for design engineers. It eliminates geometry simplification and meshing, the two most time-consuming and expertise-extensive tasks done in traditional FEA, enabling the analysis of fully-featured CAD assemblies in minutes without meshing.

Highlights
- This release contains minor bugfixes and small local improvements as described below
New Features
- New - Bulk loading of materials properties from external CSV files now supports non-linear material curves.A new field, "stress-strain-curve-file-name"can be used to reference the stress vs strain XY data values file. All CSV files must be in the same directory. To use, go to Settings > Material Database > Edit Current and pick the Import CSV button. See dialog help file for more details.
- New - Right mouse button menu, "Find potentially sliding groups of parts"inContact conditions workbench. This will look for possible assembly mechanisms and report parts groups sorted by most to least connected.
Enhancements
- Improved Spots - Round spot sizes control has been improved. Now the outer diameter of a spot cannot be smaller than inner.
- Improved response mesh-Around holes, the distribution and density of the output response mesh has been improved. For existing projects, select "Initialize solutions" to force recreation of the response mesh
Resolved Issues
- Fixed - minor issues with bolt and nut recognition
- Fixed - occasional crash during laser weld creation
- Fixed - issues with Safety zones: Interaction with bookmarks, syncing problem with legend, occasional crash with multi-materials.
