Parts and assemblies:

Painting:
Increased the speed of the drawing functions. Tests showed that in comparison with SOLIDWORKS 2015:
• Sketch contours are created faster due to more sketch segments.
• Increased response speed in sketches with a large number of visible size marks. Previously, selection and dimensioning operations in large thumbnails could have been slower.
• Zoom with the mouse wheel is faster in sketches with more sketch entities.
• Adding sketch entities to the sketch tools Moving, Copying, and Scaling provides a reduction in delays.
SOLIDWORKS PDM:
Fixed performance problems: now in different settings and menu configurations and the search tool window opens faster. Tests show an increase in the speed of certain operations in certain situations. For example, launching an integrated search tool and accessing frequently used searches and search maps are much faster in cases of a long delay in the response of the database server or a large number of folders in the repository.
User interface:
In large assemblies containing a large number of components, the filter of the FeatureManager design tree could work slowly and not respond to data entry. Perhaps, after entering each character from the keyboard, you had to wait for the system to process the information and react again. Now that you are entering data into the filter field, the program waits for a "pause" before filtering the FeatureManager design tree.

Pointers for sketch tools
Pointers for the sketch tools have changed and are now represented by a pencil icon, as in SOLIDWORKS 2015 and earlier versions. Pointers in the form of a crosshair for the sketch tools are no longer used.
New colors in badges
To set the default icons and a set of classic icons, use more colors. Improved the clarity of icons by adding highlight colors. For example, for lightning and pencil icons yellow is added, for the open and import arrows - green, for filter options - purple.
Treatment procedure:
It is highly recommended that you disable Windows UAC (User Account Control).
1. Turn off the Internet.
2. Import SolidWorksSerialNumbers2016.REG file from the _SolidSQUAD_ folder on behalf of the administrator to fill the serial numbers of SolidWorks products.
3. Mount the virtual drive SolidWorks_2016_SP4.0_Full_DVD.iso and run "setup.exe" if the program installation does not start automatically.
4. On the "Welcome" page, specify "Installation Type: Individual (on this computer)"
5. On the Serial Number Entry page, check the presence of the serial numbers and click "Next"
6. When you receive the warning "Unable to connect to the SolidWorks server to determine which products have the right to install ....", click the "Cancel" button to continue the installation.
7. On the Summary page, select all the products that you want to install.
8. Click the "Change" button on the "Boot Options" and uncheck "Use the background download manager for future service packs."
9. Change (if necessary) "Installation location", "Toolbox parameters / holes for fasteners", "Electrical parameters" click "Install" ...
10. After the installation is complete, run "SW2010-2016.Activator.GUI.SSQ.exe" from the _SolidSQUAD_ folder. On the "General" tab, select the products you want to activate, and click "Activate!"
11. Wait for the activator's message "All done! Enjoy" and press "OK" to close the activator.
12. To get activation codes for SW Xpress products, use "SolidWorksCodeGenerator.exe".
