Support for High-resolution Monitors
Solid Edge 2020 has improved support for bitmaps, controls, and other graphic elements displayed on high-resolution monitors (monitors with resolution greater than 3500 pixels).
When you use a monitor with DPI greater than 170 pixels, we recommend you adjust settings in two locations:
Set the primary DPI scaling resolution for the entire desktop using the Microsoft Windows Control Panel.
Adjust the relative sizing of Solid Edge design tools on the Helpers tab in the Solid Edge Options dialog box.
Temp File Space
Solid Edge uses temporary file space to save files and to store memory mapped display files. Using temporary file space increases system performance and is more robust should you encounter network problems.
You should ensure that you have twice as much free temporary file space as the size of the largest file being saved. The file size includes the size of the assembly, the size of the subassemblies that are being used, and the size of the part files.
Running Solid Edge creates temporary memory mapped files that are used to support the display system. When you open assembly and part files, memory mapped files are created in the temp directory on the hard drive only while the files are displayed. The memory mapped files are deleted after exiting the Solid Edge file.
Running Solid Edge creates a file named DCCACHE.tmp in the user temp folder. This file is a cache of the file icons displayed on the dialogs for browsing, opening, and saving files.
If Solid Edge files are not properly associated with the product, try deleting this file and restarting the product.
It is good practice to periodically delete files in temporary folders so your system is not unnecessarily using disk space.
Page File Size
For optimum Solid Edge performance, we recommend you set a custom page file size. The Initial size and the Maximum size should be the same. They should both be set to double the RAM size.
Solid Edge Maintenance Packs
We release Maintenance Packs for CRITICAL items only. Solid Edge 2020 maintenance packs will be released through December 31, 2020.

Solid Edge 2020 has been certified to run on the following:
Windows 10 Enterprise or Professional (64-bit only) version 1709 or later
Internet Explorer 11
Internet Explorer is not required to be the default browser.
Microsoft Office Professional 2016, or Microsoft Office 365 Business.
Note
Windows Home and Windows RT are not supported.
We recommend that you not run Solid Edge on Server operating systems.
Solid Edge stops certifying new releases against an operating system shortly after Microsoft drops mainstream support for it. Microsoft dropped mainstream support for Windows 7 in January 2015. Microsoft dropped mainstream support for Windows 8.1 in January 2018. Due to limited support from Microsoft and graphics card vendors for older operating systems, installation of Solid Edge on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 is not recommended. Solid Edge will install and run on these operating systems, but issues determined to be caused by an incompatibility between Solid Edge and an end of life operating system may not be fixed. Due to the potential for critical issues on these older operating systems, Solid Edge 2020 could be the last Solid Edge release that installs on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.

Solid Edge 2020 uses SPLM License Server v10.0.0 for licensing products
Therefore, you need to install a universal SolidSQUAD License Servers (if it wasn't installed before) or upgrade it to the SolidSQUAD'License'Servers'SiemensPLM folder (if it was installed for some Siemens products from TeAM releases SolidSQUAD-SS until July 24, 2019)
The updated vendor and license from this release are compatible with all previous siemens releases from TeAM SolidSQUAD-SS. So, after the solidSQUAD'License'Servers'SiemensPLM update from this release, previously installed Siemens products from TeAM SolidSQUAD-SS releases will continue to operate without any restrictions
