GeometricPLM is pleased to announce the availability of CAMWorks 2019 SP4.0, is a modern CAM programming solution that automates the creation of toolpaths inside SOLIDWORKS. Powering the SOLIDWORKS CAM, there is now a seamless associative path for all the SOLIDWORKS users machining and turning requirements.

CW-90975 In TechDB, under default setup parameters the "Minimum Z" field for lower Z limits doesn't accept decimal values.
CW-90577 For the specific Assembly if the Override Arc Feedrate option is selected in the Contour Mill operation then, CAMWorks crashes when preview is done.
CW-90571 In assembly mode, when "Multi part toolpath output" is set to "By part" then, the post operation is always posted at the end of the G-Code irrespective of the position of the post operation in the CAMWorks operation tree.
CW-89962 For the specific Assembly file, when the "Generate Operation Plan" command is executed for an interactively inserted Circular Pocket feature, then the performance is very slow. The performance is as expected when the circular pocket is recognized using AFR.
CW-88849 In CAMWorks when user tries to print the part along with the displayed toolpath by using the option of "Ctrl+P" then, only the SOLIDWORKS part file is printed and the toolpath is not displayed in the printed document.
CW-88847 The thread designation set for a hole feature is not retained when the user closes the Feature parameters dialog box by clicking on OK button.
CW-88702 A crash of CAMWorks is observed when the specific assembly is opened in SOLIDWORKS by keeping CAMWorks as an active add in.
CW-88689 With the customized TechDB, no operations are generated upon doing Generate Operation Plan on features having valid strategies.
CW-88663 When a feature is copied across setup then, upon doing a rebuild, incorrect parameters are observed for the copied feature resulting in toolpaths with incorrect depths.
CW-88624 In CAMWorks Virtual Machine, an error stating "Null Feed Rate" is displayed after G81 command is executed.
CW-88612 Incorrect posted output is observed for Tap operations in Turning when posted along with preceding operations.
CW-88398 In CAMWorks Virtual Machine, the direction of arcs is reversed when machined with tool on Front Turret and posted using APT post processor.
CW-88237 For the specific Mill part, the toolpath generated for Area Clearance operation with Volumill pattern doesn't adhere to the defined avoid area.
CW-88217 For the specific assembly part, when the toolpath for Entry Drill operation is regenerated then CAMWorks crashes.
CW-88185 In CAMWorks Virtual Machine, gouge is observed after the "JUMPTO" command during simulation.
CW-88180 The values set for the Arc federate override are not adhered in the spring passes of Contour Mill toolpaths.
CW-88057 The toolpath for a Multiaxis mill operation with a dovetail tool having a nose radius is not generated.
CW-87986 The toolpath generated for a Rough Mill operation with pattern type set to Volumill doesn't adhere to the value set for Bottom Allowance.
CW-87902 Incorrect values for "TOOL SHANK DIAMETER" are observed in the posted output.
CW-87711 The Depth parameter field in the new perimeter feature dialog box doesn't save negative value. However, the toolpath gets updated tothe modified value.
CW-87685 The leadin move of the Contour Mill operation with chamfer machining options set to ON, gouges the adjacent segments in case if the included angle is more than 90 degrees
CW-87586 In the installation wizard of CAMWorks Feed Speed Library, the word "Please" is misspelt.
CW-87447 For the specific Mill Part, CAMWorks crash is observed when cam data is imported from another .prtcam file.
CW-87243 For the specific Mill Part, an error stating "Cannot continue with simulation" is observed while simulating the toolpaths.
CW-86648 For the specific part when user tries to define a CAMWorks co-ordinate system using a sketch then, SOLIDWORKS crashes.
CW-86500 For the specific assembly, the arc feedrate defined for a Contour Mill toolpath are not applied. Instead the XY federate is applied for circular moves in the toolpath.
CW-85034 In Rough Mill toolpaths with pattern type set to Volumill, the stepover recommended by Volumill Technology Expert is not applied and instead the earlier user defined stepover value is considered.
CW-83164 In assembly mode if a part instance is suppressed and then unsuppressed, the earlier defined offset value in a Mill part setup is reset to Zero.
CW-80860 The images displayed in the preview area for Turn Groove program point are incorrect.
CW-73189 For the specific Mill Part, when the toolpath simulation for Multiaxis mill operation is executed then CAMWorks crashes.
CWR-1656 For the specific part, when the 3-axis toolpath generation method is set to 'Advanced method' thenthe toolpath for Z Level operation along with the option of "Hit Flats" set to On, is incorrectly generated.
CWR-1654 For the specific part, when the 3-axis toolpath generation method is set to 'Advanced method' then the toolpath for Z Level operation is not generated.
CWR-1652 For the specific part, when the3-axis toolpath generation method is set to 'Advanced method' then the toolpath generated for area clearance operation with user defined holder is not generated.
CWR-1650 When 3-axis toolpath generation method is set to "Advanced method" then, the toolpath for Z level operation with cut type set to Helical doesn't adhere to the cut amount defined by the user. This happens when the mutli surface feature doesn't have any draft angle to it.
CWR-1611 For the specific part when 3-axis toolpath generation method is set to "Advanced method" then, the toolpath for Z Level operation with depth method set to 'Scallop' along with contain and avoid areas makes duplicate passes at the same level. This significantly increases the machining time.
CWR-1603 For the specific Mill part when 3-axis toolpath generation method is set to "Advanced method" then, the toolpath for the Area Clearance operation with rest machining method set to 'From WIP' gouges the part

CAMWorks for SOLIDWORKS was the first fully integrated computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) solution designed exclusively to operate in SOLIDWORKS and the first to offer knowledge-based, feature recognition, and associative machining capabilities within SOLIDWORKS.

CAMWorks uses the same SOLIDWORKS geometry to generate toolpaths to ensure the part you machine is the same part you've modeled. Toolpath simulation allows users to compare "as designed" parts to "as machined" parts. The part model-to-toolpath associativity in CAMWorks increases machining productivity and lowers manufacturing costs by eliminating time-consuming CAM system rework due to design updates.

CAMWorks eliminates the drudgery of CNC programming with Intelligent Machining through automation. Pioneered by Geometric Technologies, this suite of tools automates the generation of toolpaths based on a knowledge-based database. It eliminates hours of complex programming through Automatic Feature Recognition (AFR) that automatically defines prismatic machinable features, while the TechDBTM (Technology Database) defines machining operations to automatically generate accurate toolpaths at the click of a button.

CAMWorks machining modules include: 2½ Axis Mill, 3 Axis Mill, Turning, Mill-Turn with 5 Axis Simultaneous Machining Support, 4/5 Axis Simultaneous Machining, and Wire EDM.

CAMWorks 2019 delivers many enhancements and improvements, most created in direct response to customer requests. This release focuses onhelping you program the parts in faster and easier way.It also introduces an Additive Manufacturing module that can used togenerate Build Tickets (3D data) required to print 3D print part models.
