Autodesk PowerMill 2019.1.1 Update | 240.1 mb
Autodesk announced the new release PowerMill 2019.1.1, is the world's leading specialist NC CAM software for manufacturing complex shapes typically found in the toolmaking, automotive, and aerospace industries. This update are required to maintain access to certain features and fixes several issues.

Summary for 2019.1.1

Toolpaths
- Fixed a bug that caused excessive rest area to be found when defining rest boundaries with flat ended tools.
- Fixed a problem with the ordering of segments in a steep and shallow toolpath.
- Fixed a problem that resulted in excessive fragmentation in a steep and shallow toolpath.
- Fixed a problem with a circular arc link that moved the tool through unmachined material in a rest roughing toolpath.
- Fixed a problem with a skim link that moved the tool through unmachined material when the block was defined as multiple, separate volumes of stock.
- Fixed a bug that could cause large parts of an area clearance toolpath to be missing when "unsafe segment removal" is used.
- Lead-in moves were missing for wall finishing in Vortex strategies. They are now correctly applied.
Collision Avoidance and Collision Checking
- Fixed a bug that could cause collisions to go undetected if they occurred at a position corresponding to an arc span within the tool holder.
- Stop a crash using stepped stabilisation together with automatic collision avoidance.
- Ensure that colliding moves can be retained within a toolpath when applying automatic collision avoidance by editing the toolpath within a region.
- Fixed a problem with the position of widgets on the Colliding Sections form.
Stock Model
- The stock model rest view will not be forcefully recalculated when the model has been modified.
- Option files for Simulation and NC Program Verification
- When an NC Program is simulated or verified with a machine tool that does not differ from the option file. If the "Reset Axes" option in the option file is set to "Before Any Toolpath", then the machine tool is reset in simulation too.
- Fixed simulation and verification limit error messages so that the numbers are in PowerMill units rather than always in mm.
- Corrected the matching of the option file and the machine tool in an NC Program when the order of the axes differs.
Setups
- Fixed an issue where edits to setup stock could still be applied despite it being locked.
- Fixed an issue where the block wasn't always keeping in sync with the setup stock.
- The opacity % label for setup stock is no longer displayed when it ought not be visible.
- A "Draw Setup" option has been added to the right mouse button menu for setups.
- The "Recreate Block" option has been disabled for toolpaths using parent stock.
- Attempting to change the opacity of a setup with calculated toolpaths no longer causes a locking message to appear.
NC Program
- Fix NC Program output that uses the block work plane when getting the option file from the machine tool.
- NC Program manual ordering icons changed.
Clamps and Thickness
- Clamps can now be modified on a setup even where it contains calculated toolpaths, i.e. the locking has been removed.
- Fixed an issue where default thickness data wasn't always being picked up for newly created toolpaths.
- Fixed an issue where smart selection criterion wasn't being correctly applied to default thicknesses.
- Ensure that when levels are converted to clamps, the thickness sets are correctly updated so that all clamp surfaces appear on the clamp rows.
- The clamp clearance field on the setup form can now accept expressions.
Speed Improvements
- Speeded up NC Program creation by avoiding unnecessary refreshes of Fusion Production parameters.
- Project reading is now faster because of improvements made to the way smart surfaces are allocated.
- Tools and other entities are now created/activated more quickly because of an optimisation made to the "Active" entity selector on the ribbon.
- Further speed-ups have been made to project closing, especially for large projects.
General
- Fixed a crash on the Info page of the backstage view when manipulating user defined settings.
- The Fusion Production progress bar sometimes got stuck downloading workcells and has now been fixed.
- A crash has been fixed where a project was opened following folder manipulation.
- An issue affecting ribbon tab minimisation has been resolved.
- Fixed a crash when very large values were entered during 2D feature creation.
- Groups no longer become corrupted when they are deleted and recovered if an item they previously contained is deleted in the interim.
Additive Plugin
- Fixed a problem with how layer indices were set on the first layer of an additive toolpath imported from Netfabb.
- Stopped a crash when attempting to import a Netfabb toolpath that did not have any layers.
- Fixed a problem that stopped the rotation of raster passes on successive layers of an additive toolpath.
- Fixed an issue with the feature construction form not updating when changing the active toolpath.
Vericut Plugin
- When the output directory is not empty, overwrite relevant files rather than deleting all of them.
- Fixup the settings file if it is unreadable. Previously this would cause the Vericut plugin to silently fail to load.
Robot Plugin
- Fixed a bug that caused PowerMill to crash when exiting whenever the Robot Plugin was enabled.
- Mitsubishi robots can be driven with the part held by the robot.

About Autodesk PowerMill 2019. Autodesk's PowerMill 2019 CAM software includes developments designed to enhance existing functionality for high-efficiency machining.

This version includes additive manufacturing (AM) strategies and simulation tools designed for hybrid machines. It generates safe and efficient tool paths to drive directed energy deposition (DED) processes that use wire-fed or powder-blown hardware. Specialized three- and five-axis programs enable building entire components from scratch. It can also apply localized features or surface coatings to repair or enhance existing parts.

For five-axis programming, the software includes improved collision avoidance tools. An automatic tool-axis tilting method simplifies programming, helping to generate smooth and safe five-axis motion for all model shapes and toolpath types.

Vortex, the high-efficiency roughing strategy, now includes a "from stock" option based on the company's adaptive clearing technology. It creates tool paths with offsets based on both the shape of the part being produced and the stock being milled, resulting in efficient tool paths with shorter machining cycle times and fewer tool retractions.

For 2D machining, the software improves workflow for defining open-sided pockets and bosses. The existing 2D tool paths recognize these features, automatically positioning tool entry and exit points to avoid overloading cutting tools. It also enables users to create 2D features based on a selection of surface.

ViewMill, a stock simulation tool, now includes a "remaining material" shading mode. This helps programmers to identify areas of unmachined stock to ensure parts are fully machined before removal. The shading mode automatically identifies the maximum amount of stock left on a simulated part and provides dynamic slider bars to visualize the distribution of stock.

The software also includes a "setups" feature that enables programmers to better manage the synchronization between tool paths and NC programs. It also provides functionalities for parts with multiple fixture offsets.
